Big Buoys Name James Timmins as Head Coach Ahead of Inaugural Season

Palm Coast, FL — The Big Buoys are proud to announce the hiring of James Timmins as the organization’s first Head Coach, ushering in an exciting new era as the team prepares for its inaugural season in Palm Coast.

A native of New Jersey, Timmins brings a unique blend of leadership, business experience, and passion for the game. For the past 10 years, he owned and operated a successful general contracting company before trading in his tools for a full-time role in baseball. Over the last year, Timmins has taken on a new challenge, now running an indoor baseball training facility focused on developing players of all ages.

“Baseball has always been a huge part of my life,” said Timmins. “I’ve always enjoyed baseball, football, and hockey, but the opportunity to fully invest in baseball and help grow the game at a local level is something I’m incredibly passionate about.”

As Head Coach, Timmins is focused on building more than just a competitive team—he is committed to creating a strong connection with the Palm Coast community while developing players for the future.

“Representing this organization means giving the community good baseball to watch and the opportunity to help build the future these players have,” Timmins said. “This first year is about the players learning, improving, and having fun, while also making sure the community has a great time at our games.”

With the Big Buoys entering their first season, Timmins emphasizes that success will be measured beyond the scoreboard.

“To me, it is beyond the wins and losses,” he added. “Improvement is a huge thing, along with the players coming together and playing as a team. If we can do that while bringing a higher level of baseball that’s easily accessible for everyone in the community, that’s a success.”

The Big Buoys are excited to introduce a new brand of baseball to Palm Coast—one that is competitive, community-driven, and welcoming to fans of all ages. Under Timmins’ leadership, the organization is committed to building a strong foundation both on and off the field in its inaugural season.
